Frequently Asked Questions
What is EcoPoste?
EcoPoste is a signpost made from 100% recycled plastic and is designed to replace traditional wood and metal posts.
Where is it made?
EcoPoste is currently made in Sao Paulo, Brazil with plans for North American facilities in the near future.
Is it really 100% recycled?
Yes. It’s made entirely from recycled plastic waste and transformed into signposts without the use of any added chemicals, treatments or substances of any kind. In fact, it even reuses the water during manufacturing so none is wasted.
What is MASH?
The Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware is the North American crash safety standard; EcoPoste is the only sustainable post to be fully MASH certified.
Why choose EcoPoste over wood or metal signposts?
Eco-friendly: made entirely from recycled plastic, diverting waste from landfills and saving trees in the process.
400 trees saved for every 1000 EcoPoste signposts installed (by not using treated wood signposts).
Each day, 15-20 tons of plastic is recycled to manufacture EcoPoste signposts.
Maximum durability: resistant to rot, rust, corrosion, lawn equipment, freezing temperatures and even forest fires.
The safer option: bends or collapses upon impact, reducing the risk of passengers being injured in a collision.
EcoPoste signposts have passed all MASH crash tests in North America.
Cost-effective: save time and money with no required staining, painting, treatments, or maintenance of any kind.
Where can EcoPoste signposts be used?
EcoPoste signposts are perfect for:
Road signage on streets and highways
Trail, park, and recreational signs
Private property and boundary markers
Utility and construction signage
Farm and rural applications
How do EcoPoste signposts perform in extreme weather?
Exceptionally well. EcoPoste posts are designed to handle temperature swings from Canadian winters to tropical summers.
They don’t crack, warp, or rust, even in harsh environments with moisture, salt, or high UV exposure.
Are EcoPoste signposts easy to install?
Yes. EcoPoste posts can be installed using the same tools and methods as wood or metal posts.
They can be direct buried or mounted and we offer brackets for signage and installation guidance for your project’s needs.
Are EcoPoste products recyclable?
Absolutely. At the end of their life cycle, EcoPoste signposts can be recycled into new signposts; creating a closed-loop, fully sustainable product.
Are EcoPoste posts approved for municipal or government use?
Yes. EcoPoste signposts meet or exceed the performance standards required by many municipal and government agencies across North America. Contact our team for spec sheets, certifications, testing data and approvals.
Who is EcoPoste North?
EcoPoste North is the official North American distributor of EcoPoste. We provide distribution, support, and consultation for projects of all sizes; from local installations to large-scale government programs.
