Cleaning Up Local Waterways
EcoPoste North donates recycled signpost near Cambridge Creek to support efforts to clean local waterways.
The City of Cambridge, along with numerous partners, are taking meaningful steps to keep its waterways clean and plastic-free, and EcoPoste North is proud to support them in their effort by donating one of EcoPoste’s recycled plastic signposts.
Earlier this year, the City of Cambridge installed floating trash barriers to capture debris in Cambridge Creek before it flows into the Choptank River. These barriers help trap plastic bottles, wrappers, and other waste that might otherwise harm local wildlife or end up in the Chesapeake Bay. The project, featured by WBOC News (https://www.wboc.com/news/cambridge-installs-floating-trash-barriers-to-clean-up-waterway/article_732ad128-f064-43bf-bed4-d3daf3accaeb.html), underscores a growing local commitment to turning the tide on pollution.
EcoPoste North’s contribution aligns perfectly with that mission. Our signposts, made entirely from recycled plastic, are built from the same kinds of materials often found in these cleanup efforts: plastic bottles, plastic containers, and other discarded HDPE plastics. By transforming this type of plastic waste into durable, long-lasting signposts, we help close the loop on plastic pollution.
The new EcoPoste signpost near Cambridge Creek was donated as a visible symbol of what circular sustainability looks like in action. Every signpost represents a story of recovery: material diverted from landfills and waterways, given new life to serve communities for decades to come.
EcoPoste North is honored to support Cambridge’s waterway restoration efforts and hopes to see more partnerships like this unfold. Together, small changes, like a recycled signpost, can make a big impact.
